The brackets have been released for the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference basketball tournament which begins this weekend. Opening round games will take place on Saturday in Brady. First round games in the girls tournament will feature Sandhills Valley vs Cody-Kilgore with the winner advancing to play the #2 seed Anselmo-Merna in the quarterfinal round on Monday (1/23). Arthur County will face Brady Saturday with the winner advancing to play the top seed Sandhills/Thedford in the girls quarterfinals. Other girls quarterfinal matchups on Monday will included Mullen vs Twin Loup at Dunning and South Loup vs Hyannis in Merna.
First round games in the boys tournament will be played Saturday in Brady. Arthur County will face Twin Loup with the winner advancing to play top seed South Loup in the boys quarters on Tuesday (1/24) and Brady will play Anselmo-Merna with the winner advancing to play the #2 seed Mullen in the quarterfinal round. Other boys quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday will include Sandhills/Thedford vs Cody Kilgore at Arnold and Hyannis will face Sandhills Valley in Mullen.
The tournament semifinals will take place Thursday (1/26) at North Platte Community College with the 3rd place consolation and championship games scheduled for Saturday (1/28) also at NPCC. Consolation bracket games will be played on Friday (1/27).
