MNAC All Conference Basketball Teams Announced

The Mid Nebraska Activities Conference has announced its all conference girls and boys basketball selections for the 2021/22 season. The girls all conference first team includes two players from Anselmo-Merna, two players from Sandhills/Thedford, as well as representatives from South Loup and Mullen. Megan Donegan of South Loup was a first team all conference selection. Donegan helped lead South Loup to the girls MNAC tournament championship this season and an 18-5 overall record. Jaide Chandler and Shaylyn Safranek helped Anselmo-Merna win a district championship and make its first state tournament appearance since 2006. The two led the Lady Coyotes in scoring this season with each averaging just over 13 ppg. Tenley Rasmussen and Dayle Haake of Sandhills/Thedford were first team honorees. Sandhills/Thedford won ten of its last 14 games and qualified for the D2-2 district championship game. Rasmussen led the team in scoring at 12.8 ppg and Haake averaged 10 points per game. Taylor Svoboda of Mullen rounds out the all MNAC girls first team. Svoboda averaged nearly 12 points per game.

The boys all conference first team included two players from both Mullen and South Loup as well as representatives from Anselmo-Merna, Sandhills Valley, Hyannis and Sandhills/Thedford. Clayton Moore and Trevor Kuncl helped lead Mullen to the MNAC boys tournament championship and a state tournament appearance. Moore averaged over 19 ppg this season and Kuncl averaged over 15. Liam Kostman of Hyannis was a boys first team selection. Kostman averaged over 18 ppg this season and helped lead the Longhorns to a 23-4 overall record and a state tournament appearance.
Cole Kramer of Sandhills Valley was a first team honoree who averaged 20 ppg. Anselmo-Merna’s Wyat Lambertson was a first team selection. Lambertson averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds per game. Dane Pokorny of Sandhills/Thedford was a first team selection averaging 12 ppg this season for the Knights.  Cache Gracey and Trey Connell represent South Loup on the all MNAC boys first team.
