Local Bullfighter Zach Call Ready for Buffalo Bill Rodeo

The Buffalo Bill Rodeo takes place this week during the Nebraskaland Days celebration in North Platte. The rodeo begins Wednesday with its opening performance at 8 p.m. Performances continue on Thursday at 8 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., and the final performance will be Saturday at 8 p.m. Last year the grandstands were empty for the most part due to COVID concerns. Bullfighter Zach Call of Thedford will be working the Buffalo Bill Rodeo again this year. Call visited with KCNI/KBBN radio and told Central Nebraska’s Sports Source that he is excited to work close to home and is happy to have things back to somewhat normal after last year.

When it comes to the rodeo in North Platte, Call has come full circle.  He remembers attending the rodeo as a kid and now has become a part of it

When spectators watch bullfighters perform, it’s hard not to notice their athleticism and how in shape one must be to do what they do.  Call said it’s not only important to be in shape but to be prepared mentally as well as physically.

Tickets for the Buffalo Bill Rodeo are available online at www.nebraskalanddays.com
