Let the Games Begin! – Area Sports Teams Begin Season Today – Broken Bow Volleyball Opener on KBBN

The 2021 high school volleyball season begins today for several area teams.  The Broken Bow Lady Indians will begin their season tonight as they host Hershey at the Indian gym.  Broken Bow is coming off another highly successful season that saw them finish 29-5 and qualify for the NSAA state volleyball championship tournament.  Skylar Morris enters her ninth season as Broken Bow head coach.  During the annual Broken Bow Athletic Booster Club fall sports kickoff last week, coach Morris talked about some of the keys for her team to be successful this year.  Among them, doing all of the “little things”.

 

Tonight’s Broken Bow / Hershey varsity matchup will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  Match time is scheduled for 7 pm.

Other area matchups tonight include:
Ansley/Litchfield vs Amherst and Elm Creek at Ansley for a triangular
Twin Loup at Stuart
SEM at Gibbon
Sandhills Valley at Maywood/Hayes Center triangular
Gothenburg at Cozad

The Broken Bow girls golf team begins its season today. The reigning Class C state champions will open the year at the Kearney Catholic Invite held at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney. The meet is scheduled to tee off at 9 a.m. Other area teams scheduled to compete at the meet include Arcadia/Loup City, Gothenburg, and Cozad.

Burwell hosts its annual cross country meet today. Among the area teams scheduled to compete include : Burwell, South Loup, Twin Loup, SEM, and Sandhills/Thedford. The Arcadia/Loup City cross country team is scheduled to compete at the St. Paul Invite today and Mullen cross country is scheduled to compete at Scottsbluff.
