KNOP News 2 of North Platte reported Monday the passing of former Mullen head boys basketball coach Rusty Moore. Mullen Activities Director Chris Kuncl confirmed the news Monday night.
Moore was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was undergoing treatment.
During his battle with cancer, Mullen fans and people from the region rallied around the coach with special shirts that said “Rally for Rusty” and showed several signs of support.
Moore led the Mullen boys’ basketball team to the state title in 2017.
