Highlights of Mullen’s State Tournament Win – News Channel Nebraska

LINCOLN, NE – It went down to the wire, but Mullen pulled out a 51-49 victory against St. Mary’s in the first round of the Class D2 boys basketball tournament Thursday.

The Broncos led 23-19 at the half. They were led by a strong first-half performance by Bryce McIntosh who had 12 points in the first two quarters.

An evenly-matched third quarter sent the game to the fourth with Mullen still holding a four-point advantage. St. Mary’s had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but fell just short.

McIntosh led Mullen with 18 points. Four players St. Mary’s finished in double digits. Tate Thompson and Adam Everitt had 11 each. Aidan Hedstrom and Ethan Shoemaker both finished with 10.

Mullen will face Humphrey St. Francis at 2:00 p.m. CDT/1:00 p.m. MDT at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
