South Loup hosted a volleyball triangular with Anselmo-Merna and Elm Creek Tuesday evening. The night started with South Loup winning over Elm Creek in straight sets 25-13, 25-19. Anselmo-Merna then picked up a straight set win over Elm Creek by scores of 25-13, 25-17. The final match of the night was a thriller between South Loup and Anselmo-Merna. South Loup won in straight sets but the match could have gone either way. South Loup took the opening set 25-23. The second set had to go extra points. After failing on four match point opportunities and denying Anselmo-Merna a set point opportunity, South Loup finally converted on its fifth match point to win 30-28. South Loup extended its match winning streak to seven in a row and is 9-3 on the season. Anselmo-Merna is now 7-5 on the season.
