The Broken Bow football team dropped to 1-4 on the season falling to Valentine on the road Friday night. Valentine had jumped out to a 13-0 lead when Blake Denson connected with Skeeter Campbell on a 60 yard touchdown pass to bring the Indians to within 13-6. However, Valentine would quickly answer as Jon Keller hooked up with Morgan McGinley for a 52 yard touchdown strike to make the score 20-6 going into halftime. In the third quarter, Broken Bow recovered a fumble on Valentine’s opening drive of the half and then marched down the field to inside the Badgers 10 yard line. However, a penalty and quarterback sack would take Bow out of scoring range. On the ensuing possession, Valentine marched 96 yards capped off by a 41 yard touchdown run by quarterback Jon Keller to extend the lead to 28-6. The Badgers would add one more score to make the final 36-6. Next up for Broken Bow is a date with Gothenburg for homecoming on Friday October 4.
In the KBBN area game of the week, Mullen collected its first win of the season. The Broncos were able to slow down the Brady offense and led 25-8 at half. Mullen would go on to win by a final of 33-14.
