High School Football Scores 9/11

Another memorable chapter to the Broken Bow / Gothenburg football rivalry was written Friday night. The two teams battled to the final minute as Gothenburg scored on a 15 yard touchdown pass from Wes Geiken to Ty Bartels with under 40 seconds left to lift the Swedes to their first victory of the year 15-12. Gothenburg scored first on a one yard touchdown run by Owen Geiken with 2:44 left in the 2nd quarter to make the score 7-0 at the half. Broken Bow would come back in the 2nd half. After recovering a Gothenburg fumble, Bow marched 76 yards and scored on a 34 yard touchdown run by Frazier Kaelin to pull to within 7-6. Kaelin would score again on a nine yard touchdown run with 5:41 left in the game to give Broken Bow the lead 12-7 before Gothenburg’s heroics in the final minute. The Indians will travel to Ord next Friday.
