High School Football Scores 8/27

The Broken Bow Indians won their season opener Friday in impressive fashion with a 30-6 win over Ogallala.  Connor Wells had touchdown runs of 5 yards and 55 yards.  Cyrus Wells had an 8 yard touchdown run and Austin Harvey connected with Keegan Baxter on a 36 yard touchdown pass in the second half.  It’s Broken Bow’s first win over Ogallala since 2017 as Ogallala had won the previous three meetings.  Broken Bow will travel to St. Paul next Friday.  The Wildcats lost to Pierce in their opener 47-25.

Anselmo-Merna is off to a 1-0 start collecting a win over rival Ansley/Litchfield in their opener.  The Coyotes defense was strong holding the Spartans scoreless in a 44-0 victory.  Bryce Schmidt and Tyce Porter each had two touchdown runs. Quarterback Carter Johnson scored on a 37 yard touchdown run and connected with Wyat Lambertson on a 25 yard touchdown pass for AM.  Anselmo-Merna hosts Hemingford next Friday.  Ansley/Litchfield plays at Ravenna on Thursday.
