High School Football Scores 10/24

The Broken Bow Indians fell in their season finale Thursday night at Centura. Trailing 15-0 Broken Bow got on the board with a couple minutes remaining in the game when Blake Denson connected with Mykael Stoddard for an 82 yard touchdown pass which set a new school record. Centura would hold on to win 15-6.

Sandhills/Thedford did something that had not been done since the schools began their co-op program and that is finish a football regular season undefeated. The Knights accomplished that last night by defeating Medicine Valley 44-14. Trae Hickman had a huge night rushing for 192 yards (unofficially). Hickman returned a punt return for a touchdown and also ran for 4 touchdowns on the night.

Other area scores:
Arcadia/Loup City handed Elm Creek its first loss of the season and claimed the D1-8 district championship in the process winning 38-30.

Gothenburg kicked a field goal in overtime to knock off Ord and claim the C1-7 district title 17-14

South Loup improved to 3-5 on the season as they edged Amherst 12-6. Mullen also improved to 3-5 winning over Paxton 66-24 and Burwell defeated Ansley/Litchfield to finish the regular season at 6-2.
