Sandhills/Thedford hosted Ansley/Litchfield for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader Tuesday night in Dunning. The Ansley/Litchfield girls collected their third win of the season as they pulled away in the second half for a 44-27 victory. Ansley/Litchfield was led by Carli Bailey who led all scorers with 17 points. Tyra Sekutera also finished in double figures with 14 for the Spartans. Sandhills/Thedford was led by Brea Branic who had a team high 9 points. The Ansley/Litchfield boys held off Sandhills/Thedford to improve their overall record to 5-2. A/L jumped to an 11-2 lead to start the game and led by 10 at the end of the first quarter. Sandhills/Thedford scored the first seven points of the 2nd quarter to get to within three but that would be as close as the Knights would get as Ansley/Litchfield was able to hold off Sandhills/Thedford in the second half to collect a 54-43 win. The Spartans had four players finish in double figures led by Calvin Finley who had a team high 14 points. Sam Loy and Leyton Rohde each had 11 and Luke Bailey finished with 10 for the Spartans. Sandhills/Thedford was led by Dane Pokorny who led all scorers with a game high 17 points.
