Broken Bow hosted Valentine for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader Friday night at the Indian gym. The Broken Bow boys collected its third win of the season in a big way. The Indians put together its largest offensive output of the season as they hit 11 3’s on their way to a 74-35 win. Keegan Baxter set a new school record for most points in a single game with 37. The old record was 35 set by Bob Blackburn in 1990. The Broken Bow boys will face Ogallala on the road Monday in round one of the SWC basketball tournament.
The Broken Bow girls collected their 13th win of the season Friday night with a 47-18 win over Valentine. The Lady Indians held Valentine scoreless in the 1st quarter jumping out to a 21-0 lead. Seven players scored for Broken Bow led by MaKinley Tobey who had a game high 12 points and Kya Scott also finished in double figures with 10. Broken Bow will face Valentine again Monday night at the Indian gym in round one of the SWC basketball tournament. The Lady Indians will be looking for their fifth straight tournament title.
