The Arcadia/Loup City boys and girls basketball teams each picked up wins over Anselmo-Merna on Tuesday night. The Arcadia/Loup City girls won their first game of the year with a 53-42 win over the Lady Coyotes. The Lady Rebels had three players finish in double figures. Nadia VanSlyke led all scorers with 16 points while Taylor Ference and Mariah Markus each chipped in 12. Anselmo-Merna, playing their first game of the season, was led by Alexis Zimmer who scored a team high 11.
The Arcadia/Loup City boys improved to 2-1 on the season with a 58-42 win over Anselmo-Merna. The Rebels outscored AM 31-18 in the second half to pull away after leading by just 3 at the half. Caden Kusek had a game high 26 points to lead the Rebel attack. AM was led by Seth Miller who had a team high 21 points.
The Broken Bow boys remained undefeated by edging Amherst 53-50 to improve to 3-0. The Broken Bow girls improved to 2-1 with a 48-33 win over Amherst Tuesday night.
