High School Basketball – Mullen at South Loup on KBBN

It will be a rematch of last week’s MNAC tourament championship games tonight when South Loup hosts Mullen for a girls and boys basketball doublheader in Arnold. The two teams met just last Saturday in both the girls and boys championship games of the Mid Nebraska Activties Conference tournament. The South Loup girls handed Mullen its first loss of the season in claiming the girls title. Tonight, both teams enter in the top ten of their respective class according to the Omaha World Herald and have just two losses total between them. The boys game will feature a rematch of last week’s double overtime thriller won by Mullen. The Broncos have been ranked all year by the OWH and are #6 this week in Class D2. South Loup is 11-5 but their last 3 losses have come by a combined 10 points. Tonight’s games will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM, the free KBBN Thunderbird app, and on line at kbbn.com Coverage begins with the girls varsity game which is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 central time.

The Fort Kearny Conference basketball tournament continues today with the boys semifinals at the Viaero Center in Kearney. Ansley/Litchfield will face the top seed Pleasanton in the first semi at 6 p.m. The Spartans advanced to the semifinals by knocking off Amherst in the quarterfinals on Tuesday 50-41. Tonight’s other semifinal features Loomis against Axtell. The consolation and championship games will be played Saturday.

The Lou Platte conference tournament also continues today with the boys semifinals. Game one features Doniphan Trumbull against Ravenna followed by St. Paul vs Centura.
