Ansley/Litchfield scored a season high 57 points as the Lady Spartans defeated Elba 57-24 in the opening game of the D2-8 girls sub district basketball Monday night in Ansley. Ansley/Litchfield connected on seven 3’s in the game. Nine players scored for A/L led by Caydence Feldman who had a game high 14 points and Kerry Ryan also finished in double figures with 10. With the win, Ansley/Litchfield advances to play the top seed Sandhills/Thedford on Tuesday night. Also at the D2-8 sub district tournament Tuesday night, Anselmo-Merna will face Central Valley. The games will take place at Sandhills High School in Dunning beginning with AM vs Central Valley tipping off at 5:30 followed by Sandhills/Thedford vs Ansley/Litchfield at 7 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. Broken Bow begins play Tuesday at the C1-10 sub district tournament in Minden. The Lady Indians are the #2 seed and will face Holdrege. This will be the third meeting of the season between the two with Broken Bow winning the two previous encounters. Tonight’s game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.
Arcadia/Loup City defeated Gibbon 42-13 Monday night at the C2-10 sub district tournament in Ord. With the win, ALC advances to face the top seed Ord on Tuesday night in Ord. That game will tip at 6 p.m. followed by #2 seed Ravenna facing #3 seed South Loup.
Twin Loup fell to Boyd County Monday night 44-27 in the opening game of the D1-8 sub district tournament at St. Mary’s in O’Neill. Boyd County will advance to face the top seed St. Mary’s Tuesday night. Burwell is the #3 seed at the D1-8 sub district tournament and will face the #2 seed North Central on Tuesday.
SEM is the top seed at the D1-10 sub district which begins Tuesday at SEM high school. SEM will face Pleasanton at 6 p.m. followed by the #2 seed Elm Creek taking on the #3 seed Amherst.
Sandhills Valley fell to Hi-Line 42-20 in the opening game of the D1-11 sub district tournament at Maywood. Hi-Line advances to face the top seed Maywood Hayes Center on Tuesday. The other sub district matchup at the D1-11 sub features Southwest vs Brady.
Mullen is the #3 seed at the D2-12 at Hay Springs. Mullen will face off against the #2 seed Crawford on Tuesday.
