Broken Bow advanced to the championship of the C1-10 girls sub district basketball tournament with a 44-36 win over Kearney Catholic Tuesday night.  Broken Bow led 29-28 at the end of three quarters but were able to knock down crucial free throws down the stretch to pull away and secure the win.  Seven players scored for Broken Bow led by Kailyn Scott who had a team high 14 points.  The Lady Indians are now 20-4 on the season and will face Gothenburg for the sub district title on Thursday.  The Lady Swedes picked up their 17th win of the season with a 40-34 victory over Minden.  Thursday’s C1-10 sub district final will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM/96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.  Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Broken Bow high school.

Anselmo-Merna and Ansley/Litchfield both advanced to the D2-7 sub district final.  Top seed Anselmo-Merna ran away from Elba for a 76-31 win.  AM’s Shaylyn Safranek led all scorers with 26 points and Hadlee Safranek finished with 12 points to help lead the Lady Coyotes.  Ansley/Litchfield used a big 3rd quarter to pull away from Heartland Lutheran for a 65-32 victory.  Kaylee Rohde led the way for the Lady Spartans with a game high 27 points.  Also finishing in double figures for A/L were Katherine Paitz with 19 points and Carli Bailey had 10.  AM and A/L will face each other for the D2-7 sub district title on Thursday in Merna.  A live video stream of the game will be available on the Sandhills Express You Tube and Facebook page.  Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
