Girls Golf District Preview

Broken Bow and other area teams will compete tomorrow (October 8) for the opportunity to qualify for the 2019 NSAA girls golf state championships. Broken Bow will compete at the C-4 district meet at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island. Bow is joined in the district by Arcadia/Loup City, Cambridge, Central City, Centura, Cozad, Doniphan-Trumbull, Gibbon, GICC, Kearney Catholic, Minden, Ravenna, and St. Paul. The first three teams and the first ten individual places plus ties in each district will qualify for the NSAA Championship, using medal play. Broken Bow narrowly missed qualifying as a team for last year’s state tournament. Bow has been playing well breaking 400 as a team in winning the Cozad Invite and placing second at Southwest Conference last week. Coach Kelly Cooksley told KCNI/KBBN Sports that it will be a competitive district but Broken Bow should have the opportunity to be right there in the mix.

In other district golf action Tuesday, Mullen will be among those competing at the C-5 district meet at Heritage Hills Golf Course in McCook

The Class C girls golf state tournament will take place at Lake Moloney Golf Club in North Platte October 14 and 15.
