Fall Sports Preview – Sandhills/Thedford Volleyball

The Sandhills/Thedford volleyball team will look to build on a 14-15 record from last season.  Head coach Delite Zutavern took time to visit with KCNI/KBBN radio about the upcoming season.  When asked about what has stood out to her in practice so far, coach Zutavern said the way they have focused in on being “intentional” in practice.

“One of the biggest things our team is really focused on is being intentional in our practices.  We go in and we have one focus.  Whether it’s on passing or serving or hitting.  That’s really stuck out as to how hard they are working on those intentions.  Their work ethic.  They’ve been giving (their) all in all drills each day.  Their collaboration, working together, especially with bringing in some new girls and some younger girls.  They work really well together to help improve themselves both as individuals and as a team.”

Zutavern said that one of the keys to their success this season will be working to continue to improve all year and not hit a plateau.

“If we continue to improve all season and that we don’t plateau.  That we keep striving to get better.  Just keeping a tough mental game.  I think we could go pretty far this season.

Sandhills/Thedford is scheduled to start its season Thursday (8/24) when they host Cody Kilgore and Hay Springs for a triangular.
