District Final Volleyball on KCNI/KBBN

The Broken Bow Lady Indians volleyball team will attempt to qualify for the state volleyball tournament next week in Lincoln as they face off against Oakland Craig today for the C1-8 district final in Albion at Boone Central High School.  Broken Bow is 28-4 on the season and has won 26 of their last 27 matches.  Bow advanced through the C1-10 sub district tournament with wins over Ainsworth and O’Neill.  Oakland Craig is 22-6 and advanced through the C1-5 sub district with wins over Logan View / Scribner-Snyder and West Point Beemer.  Today’s match is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.

South Loup will play in today’s C2-6 volleyball district final at Central Valley high school in Greeley.  The Lady Bobcats are 22-7 on the season and advanced through the C2-11 sub district tournament with wins over Sutherland and Hi-Line.  South Loup will face Howells/Dodge which is 24-4 on the season and advanced through the C2-3 sub district with wins over Tekamah-Herman and Guardian Angels Central Catholic.  Today’s match is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  A special live video stream accompanied by the radio call will be available on sandhillsexpress.com ; Sandhills Express Facebook ; Twitter ; You Tube.

Twin Loup will play in the D2-7 district final at Boone Central High School today.  Twin Loup is 18-12 this season and secured one of the available wildcard spots to make the district finals.  The Lady Wolves will face Humphrey St. Francis.  The Flyers are 25-2 this year and advanced to sub-state by claiming the D2-4 sub district championship with wins over Elba and Riverside.  Today’s match is scheduled for 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.

Anselmo-Merna will play for a trip to the state tournament as they go up against Pleasanton in the D1-1 district final at Kearney High School.  AM is 13-18 on the year and advanced to the sub-state tournament by taking the D1-10 sub district title with wins over Maxwell and Ansley/Litchfield.  Pleasanton is undefeated and advanced through the D1-9 sub district with wins over Axtell and Amherst.  Today’s match is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Mullen will play in the D2-7 district final.  The Lady Broncos will face Garden County.  Mullen is 27-5 this season and advanced through the D2-10 sub district tournament with wins over Sandhills/Thedford and Arthur County.  Garden County is 21-6 and advanced through the D2-11 sub with wins over Creek Valley and Potter-Dix.  Today’s match is scheduled for 1 p.m. (mountain time) in Paxton.
