Ansley/Litchfield hosted the D-8 district track and field championships today at Mark Russell Field. North Platte St. Pat’s won both the girls and boys team titles. In the girls team standings, Mullen was 2nd, Anselmo-Merna 3rd, and Twin Loup was 4th. In the boys team standings, Ansley/Litchfield was 2nd just 8 points behind first with 74 points. Mullen was third in the boys standings with 73 points.
SEM was fourth and Sandhills/Thedford and Sandhills Valley tied for fifth. Here is a rundown of area athletes who have qualified for state.
In the field events, the top two places in each event automatically qualify for the state championships next week in Omaha.
