D-4 District Wrestling Results – Mullen Qualifies 9 and Sandhills/Thedford 4

Mullen claimed the team title at the D-4 district wrestling tournament over the weekend. Mullen placed first with 194.5 points with Hemingford second with 133 points and Sandhills/Thedford placed third with 92.5 points. The Broncos qualified 9 wrestlers for the state tournament next week in Omaha including 4 distict champions. Tristin Grooms was the district champion at 106 lbs. Eli Paxton was first at 113 lbs. Teven Marshall was the champion at 120 lbs. and Clayton Hassett won the title at 220 lbs. Other qualifiers included Kyle Durfee (126), Spencer DeNaeyer (145), Kendal Neal (160), Riley Kessler (182), and Ty Kvanvig (195).

Sandhills/Thedford qualified 4 wrestlers for the state tournament including 3 district champions. Reece Zutavern won the district title at 160 lbs. Bryan Zutavern was first 182 lbs. and Reed McFadden was champion at 195 lbs. Also qualifying was Brayton Branic at 285 lbs.
