Cozad Track Meet Results

Cozad hosted its annual track and field meet Friday. There was not an official team competition for the meet however team standings were kept. Ogallala was atop the girls standings with 118 points. Gothenburg was second with 116 and Cozad was third with 108 points. Kearney Catholic was atop the boys team standings with 131 points. Ogallala was second with 109 points and Broken Bow finished third with 83 points.

The Broken Bow boys team was led by Qwentin Coble who claimed gold in the boys triple jump with a winning jump of 39′.5″. Matt Ambler had a strong showing in the boys pole vault finishing second to Tyce Hruza of Gothenburg. Hruza won the event clearing 15’6″. Ambler cleared 13’3″ to claim the silver. Other top three finishes for the Indians on the day included Mykael Stoddard who placed second in the 300 meter hurdles, Skylar Campbell placed third in the boys 800 meters, and Lane Russell was third in the 1600 meter run. Bow had two place in the top 3 in the 3200 meters with Martin Bailey placing 2nd and Daine Wardyn was third.

The Broken Bow girls also had a solid day with several top three finishes. Kate Lynn Dickau cleared the winning height in the high jump at 5′ but finished second on the tie break. Kali Staples placed third in the 1600 meter run , Anna Lindstrom placed third in the girls 800 meters, and Ryley Dickau finished third in the girls pole vault clearing 9’3″.
