Sargent senior Colby Coons has announced his commitment to continue his wrestling career at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. Coons took time to visit with KCNI/KBBN sports about his commitment and he shared with us what it was that drew him to Morningside College.
Coons has been a standout wrestler for Twin Loup. Coons was a silver medalist as a sophomore at 145 lbs in Class D and a silver medalist as a junior at 152 lbs. in Class D. This past season he took the next step and won gold at 152 lbs. in Class D winning by fall over Elijah Green of Nebraska Christian. Coons talked about his wrestling journey through high school and the thrill of winning a state championship.
