Chase Miller of Broken Bow Wins Boys All Around at Nebraska High School Rodeo State Finals

The  Nebraska State High School Rodeo Finals concluded Saturday at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Hastings.  The top four in each event qualify for nationals which will take place in Rock Springs, Wyoming July 15-21.  Chase Miller of Broken Bow was awarded with the boys year end all around title.  Miller will represent team Nebraska at nationals in boys cutting where he was fourth and in steer wrestling where he also finished fourth.  Miller was fifth overall in the tie down roping this year.  Jaylee Simonson of Dunning was the girls year end reserve all around winner.  Simonson was the state champion in the pole bending this year.  Marshall Still of Oconto was the state champion in steer wrestling and Cauy Pokorny of Stapleton teamed with Clay Holz of Niobrara to win the state title in team roping.  Others from the area qualifying for nationals include : Ty Bass of Brewster in the boys cutting ; Madison Mills of Eddyville in pole bending ;  Lexie Lowery of Burwell in barrel racing ; Jentri Hurlburt of Arcadia in breakaway roping ; and BJ McAbee of Ansley in bull riding.
