Broken Bow Wrestlers Take Mat Today at State Tournament

The NSAA state wrestling championships continue today at the CHI Health Center in Omaha. Classes B and C will begin their tournaments today. Broken Bow will compete in Class B. The Indians finished the team runner-up at the B4 District last weekend in Gering and bring nine wrestlers to the state tournament. Chauncey Watson (106 lbs.), Wilson Cucul Tzin (113 lbs.), Cyrus Wells (126 lbs.), Trey Garey (138 lbs.), Connor Wells (145 lbs.), Max Denson (170 lbs), Lathan Duda (195 lbs.), Keifer Anderson (220 lbs.), and Sawyer Bumgarner (285 lbs.). Class B competition begins this morning at 9 am. Opening round matches, quarterfinals, and the first two rounds of consolations will be wrestled off today. Central Nebraska’s Sports Source will provide live play by play match coverage of all Broken Bow matches from the state tournament on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com

Tryon Calleroz will represent Arcadia/Loup City at the state wrestling tournament. Calleroz qualified for state in the 152 lb. weight class. Class C competition will begin at 5 pm today.
