Broken Bow Wins Boys and Girls Southwest Conference Cup

Broken Bow High School has been honored with the “Southwest Conference Cup” for both boys and girls in 2021.  The “Cup” was established back in 2010 and honors schools for their success in athletics and activities during the school year.  This is the first time since Ogallala in  2017 that a school has won both the girls and boys cup in the same year.  Broken Bow won the boys cup in 2018 but this is the first time that the Broken Bow girls have received the honor.  Schools receive points for their efforts in conference competition in the sports of golf, cross country, volleyball, basketball, track, and football as well as activities that include one act play, speech, and quiz bowl.  The Broken Bow girls finished with 52 points in the SWC cup scoring to edge Ogallala who finished with 50.  Broken Bow received their highest point totals (10) in the sports of girls golf, volleyball, and basketball.  Broken Bow girls received 3 points in cross country, 3 points in one act play, 5 points in speech, 8 points in Quiz Bowl and 3 points in track.  The Broken Bow boys finished with 60 points and Ogallala was 2nd with 56.5.  Broken Bow received their highest point totals (10) in the sports of wrestling and cross country.  Broken Bow received 5 points in football, 3 points in one act play, 8 points in basketball, 5 points in speech, 8 points in quiz bowl, 8 points in track, and 3 points in golf.
