Broken Bow Wins Both Girls and Boys Team Titles at Minden Invite

It was another big day for the Broken Bow track team as both boys and girls claimed the team titles at the Marsh Beck Invitational hosted by Minden on Tuesday.  The Broken Bow girls claimed the team title with 133 points and the Broken Bow boys claimed the title with 129 total points.  Adams Central was runner-up in both the boys and girls team standings.

The Broken Bow girls had five individual champions and won all three relays.  Kailyn Scott won the girls 100 in a time of 13.1 seconds.  Brianna Quinn was champion of the 800 in a time of 2:37.8.  Gracie Hackel won the 3200 meter run in a time of 13:51.6.  In the field events, Kya Scott was champion of the shot put with an effort of 35’1.5″ and Halle McCaslin won the girls triple jump with a leap of 31′.

The Broken Bow boys dominated the throwing events finishing one, two, three in the shot put and placing three in the discus.  Max Denson was champion of the shot put with an effort of 48′.5″ and Tyler Thomas won the discus with an effort of 136’2″.  Coy Wardyn was champion of the boys pole vault clearing 13′ to win the event.  Of the 13 individual events, the Indians had 12 runner-up finishes.
