Broken Bow Track Teams Bring Home 4 Golds From First Meet of the Season

The Broken Bow boys and girls track teams started their season Friday at the Tiger Track Invite in Hastings. GI Northwest won the boys team title with 142.5 points and also won the girls team title with 110.5 points. The Broken Bow boys finished the day with 37 team points and the Broken Bow girls finished with 43.5. Broken Bow had 4 athletes take gold. Lexie Foster won the girls 1600 meter run in a time of 5:49.7 and Lindsay Schauda won the girls 300 meter hurdles in a time of 50.50. On the boys side, Broken Bow’s Joel Myers won the pole vault by clearing 14’1″ and Riley Peterson claimed gold in the shot put with a winning effort of 44’1.75″.

Cozad also participated in the meet. The Cozad girls finished with 56.5 team points and the Cozad boys finished with 23. Cozad won the girls 4×800 meter relay and Kennedy Berreckman took gold in the girls high jump.
