Broken Bow Track Preview

The Broken Bow girls and boys track and field teams will begin their seasons this week when they travel to compete at the Aurora Invite on Friday March 25th. Ryan Wetovick is in his second year as head track coach. He took time last week to visit with KCNI/KBBN Sports about the upcoming season. Wetovick said that it has been nice to get outside and start preparing for the upcoming season.

There is always a transition in training and conditioning that occurs when high school athletes move from one sports season to the next.  Wetovick said he believes that the transition from winter sports to track has gone well in the opening days of practice.

Broken Bow will not have to travel to compete at districts this year.  Broken Bow has been awarded the host site of the B-5 district meet which is scheduled for May 10th.  Wetovick said it will be exciting to host such a highly competitive meet and to feature Broken Bow’s facility.

Listen to KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM during the track season for the Broken Bow track report which will air each week through the season on Tuesdays during the noon sports report.  The first report will air Tuesday March 29th.
