Broken Bow Sweeps Gothenburg in Juniors and Seniors Doubleheader

The Broken Bow juniors and seniors legion baseball teams each picked up wins over Gothenburg Tuesday night at Paul Brown Field.

The Bow seniors improved to 5-2 overall with a 14-6 victory.  Broken Bow jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning but saw Gothenburg chip away to tie the game at 4 going to the bottom of the fourth inning.  In the fourth, Bow batted through the order scoring 5 runs and then added 4 more runs in the fifth to take control.  Blake Denson finished the night 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Coy Johnson drove in 4 runs including a 3 run homer in the fifth.

The Bow juniors held on to defeat Gothenburg 8-6.  Bow jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings but Gothenburg chipped away to climb to within two going into the 7th but Bow was able to hang on and collect their 6th win of the season to improve to 6-1 overall.  Max Denson was 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI while Carter Johnson was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and Caden Holm was 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Broken Bow will host O’Neill Wednesday night for a juniors and seniors doubleheader.  The juniors game is scheduled for 5:30 with the seniors game to follow at 8pm.  The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and will be streamed live on the sandhillsexpress.com facebook page.
