The Broken Bow Spirit 18U team picked up their 5th win of the season by defeating the “Flames of Nebraska” 7-1 Thursday night. Karina Kitt picked up the win in the circle for the Spirit. Kitt pitched three scoreless innings giving up just 2 hits. Avery Campbell and Shaylee Chilewski each had multiple hit efforts in the win.
The Spirit 16U team also picked up a victory over the Flames Thursday evening. The 16 and under team scored 11 runs in the first two innings en route to a 14-2 victory in three innings improving their overall mark to 4-14 on the season.
The Spirit softball teams will compete in the “Spirit of the Sandhills Summer Shootout” tournament at Melham Park in Broken Bow this weekend.
