Broken Bow Spirit Softball Drops Two in Doubleheader at North Platte

The Broken Bow Spirit 18U team dropped two games Tuesday on the road at North Platte.  In game one, the Bow Spirit couldn’t contain the North Platte Prairie Fire 14U team.  The Fire scored 11 runs in the first two innings to take control early and added more in innings 3 and 4 to secure the win.  Broken Bow got on the board in the fourth scoring two runs.

The Spirit played the North Platte Belles in game two.  It was a back and forth affair as the Spirit got on the board first with two runs in the first.  The Belles scored a run in the second then took the lead with 3 runs in the third.  Bow came back with a run in the fourth then tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth.  The Belles would then scratch across a run in the bottom of the fifth for a 5-4 walk off victory.  Broken Bow outhit the Belles 6-2.  Kennedy Garcia led the Spirit offense going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.
