The Broken Bow Spirit 16U/18U softball team dropped a doubleheader to the Cozad Classics 18U team Wednesday night. Cozad took game one 14-7. The two teams combined for nine runs in the first inning with the Spirit taking an early 5-4 lead but Cozad would follow with four runs in the 2nd inning and six in the third to secure the win. Broken Bow outhit Cozad 13-8. Dalila Griffiths, Keelyn Shea, Adyson Priest, Tessa Nichols, and Trinity Erickson all had two hits in the game. Priest and Nichols each had 2 runs batted in.
Game two saw Cozad come back for a 9-8 victory. Each team had 11 hits in the game. Broken Bow had a big 2nd inning scoring six runs to take an 8-5 lead but Cozad would come back with two runs in the third and two more in the fourth to complete the comeback victory. Trinity Erickson, Keelyn Shea, and Taylor Schaaf had multi hit performances to help lead the offensive attack. Shea and Avery Svoboda each had two runs batted in.
