Broken Bow Spirit 18U Softball Team Drops Doubleheader to Ord/CCV

The Bow Spirit girls softball team traveled to take on the Ord/CCV Sandhills Sharks for a doubleheader Tuesday night.

In game one, the Sharks jumped out early scoring 8 runs in the first 2 innings which proved to be too much for the Spirit to make up as the Sharks went on to win by a final of 12-3. The Sharks held the Spirit to just 5 hits in the game. Hits were collected by Cami Schweitzer, Brianna Mowrey, Mattie Bumgarner, Emily Trotter, and Avery Campbell.

Game two was much closer. The Sharks again struck early scoring 6 runs in the first inning but that would be all they would score as the Spirit fought back. Bow would score 3 runs in the third and 1 in the fourth to pull to within two. The Spirit would get one more run in the 5th and final inning but the rally would fall short as the Sharks held on for a 6-5 win. The Spirit pounded out 13 hits in the game. Mattie Bumgarner helped lead the way going 3 for 3.

The Spirit are now 2-9 on the season
