Broken Bow Spirit 14U Grabs Lead In Third Inning To Defeat Suburban Thunder

The Broken Bow Spirit 14U claimed the gold medal in the 14U C/Rec tournament at the Cornhusker State Games on Sunday by beating the Suburban Thunder in the championship game.

Broken Bow Spirit 14U stole the lead late in the game in a 6-4 victory over Suburban Thunder on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Broken Bow Spirit 14U batting in the top of the third when Brianna Arguello doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Suburban Thunder scored three runs in the first inning, but Broken Bow Spirit 14U still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Suburban Thunder came thanks to a single by #10, by #2, and a double by #9.
Kaylee Petersen got the win for Broken Bow Spirit 14U. She went one and one-third innings, allowing three runs on two hits and walking one. Mya Weverka threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
#5 toed the rubber for Suburban Thunder. She surrendered four runs on five hits over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero. #9 threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Arguello went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Broken Bow Spirit 14U in hits.
#10 led Suburban Thunder with two hits in two at bats.
