Broken Bow, South Loup, Burwell, and Arcadia/Loup City Compete in District Track Today

More area athletes will compete today for the opportunity to qualify for the state track and field championships next week in Omaha.

Broken Bow will compete today at the B-5 district track championships in Aurora.  Joining Broken Bow at today’s district meet will be Adams Central, Aurora, Central City, Hastings, Holdrege, Kearney Catholic, Lexington, Minden, Northwest, and St. Paul.  The top three places in each individual event and the top two teams in each relay event will automatically qualify for the state meet.  Central Nebraska’s Sports Source will be live at the B-5 district championships.  Live updates can be heard hourly on KBBN 95.3 FM beginning in the 11 a.m. hour.

South Loup, Burwell, and Arcadia/Loup City will be among the teams competing today at the C-8 track championships in Ord.  Joining them will be Amherst, Elm Creek, Gibbon, Hi-Line, Maxwell, Ord, and Ravenna.  The top two places in each individual event and the winning team in each relay event will automatically qualify for the state championships in Omaha.

State track and field for classes B and C will take place on Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22 at Burke Stadium in Omaha
