Broken Bow Senior Kali Staples Signs Letter of Intent to Play College Basketball for Doane

Broken Bow senior Kali Staples officially signed her letter of intent Tuesday to play basketball collegiately for Doane University in Crete, NE.  Staples currently holds the Broken Bow school records for most assists in a career and in a season.  The senior averaged 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game last season as a junior.  Staples shared with KCNI/KBBN Sports what drew her to the Doane basketball program.

 

Staples talked about the part of her game that she believes has improved the most from her freshman season to now.

 

The Broken Bow girls basketball team has won three consecutive Southwest Conference tournament championships and Staples said that one of the team’s goals this season is to make it four in a row as well as qualify for the state tournament.

 

Broken Bow is scheduled to begin its season on Thursday, December 3rd when they host Arcadia/Loup City at the Indian gym.
