Broken Bow Ready for Home Opener with Minden – Game on KCNI

The Broken Bow Indians will play their football home opener tonight as they host Minden at Mark Russell Field.  Broken Bow will try to bounce back from a season opening loss to Kearney Catholic last Friday while Minden is coming off a shutout victory over Gibbon 40-0.   Losses are never easy to take but Broken Bow head coach Mike Garner told KCNI/KBBN Sports that he has been pleased with the way the team has responded and the attitude the players have displayed in practice.

Minden is a team that likes to run the ball and features senior tailback Eddie Gonzales who ran for 95 yards and a touchdown in their win last week against Gibbon.  Garner said it will be key for the defense to control the run game and force Minden into some passing situations.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast live on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and on the web at   Coverage begins with the Custer Federal State Bank Friday Night Lights Pregame show at 6pm.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm
