The Broken Bow football team will host Kearney Catholic tonight at Mark Russell Field. The Indians are off to a 4-1 start with their only loss coming to Ord. Broken Bow bounced back last week with a big road win over O’Neill 32-14 jumping out to a 24-0 lead in the first half. Second year head coach Carlie Wells visited with KCNI/KBBN Sports about tonight’s matchup. Coach Wells said that one of the things that has been addressed this week is consistency.
Kearney Catholic enters tonight’s game undefeated at 5-0 and are ranked #2 this week in Class C1 by the Omaha World Herald. Broken Bow and Kearney Catholic both compete in the C1-7 district. Kearney Catholic opened district play last week winning over Minden 39-8. This will be Broken Bow’s first district game of the season. Coach Wells said his team is excited to start district play against a high quality opponent.

The Coyotes are averaging 64 points per game and have shutout 3 of their 5 opponents giving up just a total of 13 points so far this season. Tonight Anselmo-Merna hosts 1-4 Ravenna. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
