Broken Bow Legion Teams Sweep Doubleheader Against Imperial

The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams hosted Imperial for a doubleheader Monday night at Paul Brown Field. The Bow juniors continued their perfect season with a 9-4 win over Imperial. Imperial tied the game 4-4 in the top of the 5th but Broken Bow responded with 5 runs in their half of the fifth to help lift them to the win. Broken Bow had 11 hits in the game led by Eli Coble who finished 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Hagan Campbell was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Caden Holm and Carter Johnson both drove in two runs. The Bow juniors are 17-0 this season.

The Bow seniors collected a key divisional win in the Mid Nebraska League by knocking off Imperial 4-1. Broken Bow scored all of their runs in their first at bat and Blake Denson made it hold up as he pitched a complete game throwing just 86 pitches in seven innings. Denson gave up one run on 5 hits and struck out 9 to collect the win. Sawyer Bumgarner and Carter Johnson each went 2 for 3 on the night. Johnson drove in two of Broken Bow’s four runs in the first inning. The win moves Broken Bow to 13-7-1 on the season.

Both teams will host Cozad tonight at Paul Brown Field. The juniors game is scheduled to start at 5:30 with the seniors game to follow at 8 p.m. The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
