The Broken Bow American Legion Seniors baseball team went 2-2 at the wood bat tournament at Plattsmouth over the weekend. Bow opened the tournament with a 6-4 win over Lincoln Lutheran. Brice Chaplin was 2 for 2 at the plate with a run scored and 1 RBI. Max Denson was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.
Bow faced Plattsmouth in game two. Plattsmouth jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first inning on their way to an 11-3 win. Broken Bow was held to just 2 hits. Eli Coble was 1 for 2 and scored two of Bow’s three runs.
Broken Bow got back in the win column on Saturday when they defeated South Sioux City 13-5. Bow pounded out 13 hits and scored in every inning. Caden Holm was 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored Zach Loy also had a multi hit game going 2 for 3 with a run scored and 1 RBI.
Broken Bow’s final game of the tournament came against the Millard Sox on Sunday. Millard held Bow to 1 run on 2 hits on their way to a 7-1 victory. Bow’s hits came from Sawyer Bumgarner and Max Denson and Eli Coble scored Bow’s lone run of the game.
The Bow seniors are now 4-3 on the season and will next host Lexington on Wednesday as part of a juniors and seniors doubleheader.
