The Broken Bow American Legion Seniors baseball team won their home opener Saturday over Alma at Paul Brown Field. The difference making moment came in the 6th inning. Trailing 8-6 Alma left the bases loaded and then saw Broken Bow score 5 runs in their half of the 6th to pull away and claim a 13-6 victory. Clay Brandon pitched a complete game for the Bow seniors to pick up the win. Caden Holm helped lead the Bow offense going 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. The seniors are now 2-0 following a 12-2 win Friday night at Holdrege.
The Bow Juniors jumped out to an early 4-1 lead and never looked back as they defeated Alma 8-3. Austin Harvey pitched a complete game to pick up the win allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and striking out 5. Harvey also had a big day at the plate going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. The juniors are now 2-0 following a 10-8 win over Holdrege Friday night.
