The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams opened their seasons Wednesday at home at Paul Brown Field against Lexington. The Bow juniors scored 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and collect a 5-1 win. Brice Chaplin went 3 for 3 with an RBI while Zach Loy and Tallin Schauda each drove in two runs to lead the Broken bow offensive attack. Caden Holm started the game on the mound going 4 innings giving up just one run on hit and Carter Johnson came on to pitch 3 innings of scoreless relief to record the win.
The Bow seniors won their opener against Lexington in impressive fashion pounding out 13 hits on their way to a 16-1 win in five innings. Broken Bow scored 5 runs in their first at bat to grab the early lead and then put the game away in the fourth when they scored 11 runs on their way to a 16-1 win. Keifer Anderson was 3 for 4 on the night with 2 RBI and Sawyer Bumgarner was 2 for 4 driving in four runs to lead the Bow offense. Blake Denson picked up the win on the mound giving up just one hit and striking out 5 in four innings of work.
