Broken Bow Legion Baseball Teams Split With Cozad – Play Gothenburg Tonight – Seniors Game on KBBN

The Broken Bow American Legion baseball teams traveled to Cozad for a Juniors and Seniors doubleheader Wednesday night.

In the Seniors game, Cozad used a big first inning to put the game out of reach early. Cozad scored 11 runs in the opening inning en route to a 14-4 win in five innings. Once Bow got through the first inning they would outscore Cozad 4-3 but the early deficit was too much to overcome. Broken Bow collected 8 hits in the game and were led by Sawyer Bumgarner who went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and an RBI.

The Juniors game was the opposite story as it was Broken Bow that jumped out early to a big lead. Bow scored 6 runs in their first at bat and cruised to an 11-1 victory. The Bow Juniors pounded out 11 hits while holding Cozad to just 1 run on 3 hits. Sawyer Bumgarner, Brody Ridder, Cyrus Wells, and Caden Holm all had multiple hit efforts to lead the Bow offense as the Juniors improve to 5-6 on the season.

The Bow Legion teams return home tonight for a doubleheader with Gothenburg at Paul Brown Field. The Juniors game starts the night off at 5:30 with the Seniors game to follow at 8pm. The Seniors game will be broadcast live on KBBN 95.3 FM.
