Broken Bow hosted Holdrege for a Legion Juniors and Seniors doubleheader Friday night. The games were originally scheduled to be played in Holdrege but were moved to Paul Brown Field in Broken Bow. The Seniors picked up their fifth win of the season with a 6-4 win. The Bow Seniors were held scoreless through the first four innings but scored 4 runs in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead going to the sixth. Holdrege would score 3 runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game only to see Bow respond with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to reclaim the lead and hold on for the win. Sawyer Bumgarner went to 2 for 3 on the night and Coy Johnson drove in 3 runs to help lead the Bow offense. The Seniors improve their overall record to 5-7.
The Broken Bow Juniors team saw their 3 game winning streak come to an end as they fell to Holdrege 10-1. Holdrege was able to take advantage of some defensive miscues by the Bow Juniors. Holdrege took control of the game in the third when they scored 5 runs and then put it away in the fifth when they scored 4 more. Broken Bow could not generate much offense during the evening as they were held to just 3 hits on the night. The Bow Juniors now stand at 7-7 on the season.
