Broken Bow Legion Baseball Sweeps McCook in Juniors and Seniors Doubleheader

The Broken Bow legion baseball teams swept a juniors and seniors doubleheader at McCook on Saturday.  The Bow juniors rolled over McCook 13-0 in a game that ended after five innings by the 8 run rule.  Eli Coble led the way on the mound and at the plate.  Coble threw a no hitter striking out 9.  At the plate, Coble was 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Coy Wardyn also had a 3 hit game finishing 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  With the win, the Bow juniors improve to 8-1 on the season.

The Bow seniors improved to 5-4 with an 11-8 victory.  The two teams combined for 12 runs in the first inning as Bow scored 4 runs and McCook erupted for 8 runs in their first at bat.  The difference was that McCook would not score again and Broken Bow would.  Bow tied the game in the fourth inning then scored a run in the 6th and 2 more in the 7th to complete the comeback win.  Hagen Campbell stabilized things on the mound pitching 6 1/3 innings of scoreless relief striking out nine.  Max Denson went deep for the second time at the seniors level a solo home run to give Bow the lead in the sixth inning.  It’s Denson’s sixth home run of the legion baseball season counting the four he has hit at the junior’s level.  Denson finished 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Brice Chaplin had a 3 hit game finishing 3 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI.
