Broken Bow Juniors Win Game One of Mid-Summer Classic Tournament

Broken Bow is hosting the junior legion mid-summer classic baseball tournament this weekend at Paul Brown Field.  The Bow juniors defeated DCB (Dannebrog, Cairo, Boelus) in game one of the tournament Friday afternoon 13-0 in a game shortened to five innings by the 8 run rule.  Eli Coble pitched a complete game shutout for the victory.  Coble threw 73 pitches giving up just 2 hits and striking out 10.  Max Denson went 2 for 2 in the game including his fifth home run of the season at the juniors level.  Brice Chaplin also had a multi hit game finishing 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Broken Bow continues play in the tournament tomorrow when they face Alliance at 1 pm and will play two games on Sunday facing Plattsmouth at noon and will play Lexington at 6 pm in the final game of the tournament.
