The Broken Bow Juniors and Seniors American Legion baseball teams each collected a win against O’Neill on Wednesday night at Paul Brown Field.
Strong pitching was the theme of the night. In the seniors game, Broken Bow scored 2 runs in the second inning and they made those runs hold up in a 2-0 win. Clay Brandon started the game and pitched three innings before giving way to Max Denson who came on to pitch 4 scoreless innings of relief as the Bow Seniors improved their overall record to 6-2. Keifer Anderson continued his hot hitting going 3 for 3 with two singles and a double. Carter Johnson went 2 for 3 and drove in Bow’s 2 runs on the night.
The juniors game was also a low scoring well pitched affair. Bow jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of two innings and then held on for a 3-2 win. Caden Holm, Carter Johnson, and Austin Harvey each saw time on the mound holding O’Neill to just 5 total hits for the game. Max Denson was 3 for 3 with a run scored. Austin Harvey was 2 for 3 with a run scored and Brody Ridder was 2 for 2 and drove in 2 of Broken Bow’s 3 runs. The Bow juniors are now 7-1 on the season.
