Broken Bow Junior Legion Finish 0-2 at Holdrege Tournament

The Broken Bow American Legion Juniors baseball team went 0-2 at the Holdrege Tournament on Saturday. Bow dropped a heartbreaker to Holdrege in their first game of the day. Bow took the lead early in the second as they were able to score on a wild pitch and held that lead until the fourth when Holdrege got on the board to tie the game at one. It would stay that way until Holdrege took the lead with 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth and then held off a Bow rally in the 7th to win 3-2. Cyrus Wells and Caden Holm combined for 5 of Bow’s 9 hits in the game. Wells was 2 for 4 with a double and Holm finished 3 for 4.

In game 2, Bow would match up with a familiar foe as they would play Imperial for the third time this season. Imperial won the previous two matchups and would prevail Saturday as well 10-5. Bow jumped out early with 2 runs in the first and 1 more in the third but Imperial would come back with four runs in both the 4th and 5th innings to take control. Caden Holm, Nathan Sweet, Austin Harvey, and Sam Loy all collected multiple hits for the Bow Juniors who pounded out 12 hits in the game.

The Juniors are now 4-6 on the season.
